Dancing in the streets and where spring comes to life!
Helston Flora Day
Celebrate the vibrant traditions of Helston Flora Day, a centuries-old Cornish celebration dating back at least to the 18th century and believed to have even older roots in ancient spring rites. Held each year on May 8th in the town of Helston, the festival marks the arrival of spring with a series of dances, including the famous Midday Dance, as participants weave through streets, homes, and shops accompanied by traditional music. Flora Day blends pagan symbolism with community pride, transforming the town into a joyful spectacle of greenery, flowers, and festivity.2026 images are currently being uploaded, please check back to view more from an truly amazing day.
